Dr Cliff Fairley

Dr Cliff Fairley is a comprehensive ophthalmologist with a particular interest in cataract surgery and over 20 years of surgical experience. He provides specialist eye services, focusing on treatment of the ageing eye including cataracts, macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease and glaucoma. He provides surgical treatment of cataract, pterygium, macular hole, epiretinal membrane and glaucoma.

Dr Fairley graduated from the University of Queensland with a Queensland Government Rural Scholarship. After working 4 years in rural and general medicine, he was accepted into the Ophthalmology Specialist Training Program. He was trained at the Sydney Eye Hospital before completing his specialist training in Brisbane. He accepted a Fellowship in Surgical and Medical Retina at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital.

Ophthalmology Practice

Dr Fairley returned to Brisbane in 2004 and commenced private practice. He started Eye Co. Ophthalmic Surgeons along with a public appointment at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and Greenslopes Repatriation Hospital. He was a senior lecturer at the University of Queensland and involved in the training of Ophthalmology Registrars.  
Dr Fairley has a long association with the Fred Hollows Foundation and has worked with the Fred Hollows Foundation in Central Australia as part of their Indigenous Programs and also in Vietnam.
Dr Fairley is a member of several professional organisations including a Fellow of the Royal Australia and New Zealand college of Ophthalmologists. He is currently Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee of Eye Tech Day Surgery.
